Classroom interaction with a digital learning tool: Interactive whiteboard.

Nowadays, with the increasing development of technology in life, most schools are using online tools for their learning activities in the classroom. The purpose of this activity is to keep the teacher and students interacting with each other more often. It also can develop their students’ critical thinking. Using online tools for learning activities is quite simple and easy for the students and the teacher. The teacher and students have to master the technology usage and the most important thing is the school should provide technology in their environment. There are several steps that the teacher should take before implementing the technology to the students. In short, the teacher should set the learning objectives, and then select the appropriate tool. After that, the teacher introduces the tool to the students and demonstrates its usage. From the steps, the students can follow their teacher and the classroom activity can run smoothly.

As a university student in a teacher’s faculty, I have tried to make an online tool to try for my friends and probably for my students during the second teacher field experience in the upcoming event. I have tried two online tools, which are Kahoot and Cram. I think most people already know Kahoot because the application is fun to do, not only for school but also for playing with friends and family. Today, I tried to make Cram because at first, I had no idea what Cram was. After trying to make one flashcard, I think it will be a fun activity to do in the classroom. The advantage of the application is that the teacher can invite students to remember some vocabulary that they have learned in the classroom. The teacher also can make the list of vocabulary easily with Cram. However, what I do not like about the application is the students cannot choose a choice. They have to answer it orally or write their answer in their book. It is not as fun as Kahoot, but I think it is quite good for students to remember their vocabulary.

In conclusion, online tools are important for teachers and students to learn and interact with each other because technology is always growing. With online tools, teachers’ jobs can also become easier than before and students can think more critically. Therefore, online tools are very important to be implemented in every school. Let’s make today’s education more developed and advanced following the times.
