More Things I Want to Buy (House Edition)

Boll & Branch Hemmed Sheet Set — $240

So I’ve been obsessed with buying really soft sheets for awhile now. I bought a set of sateen sheets from Brooklinen, another start up, but they honestly felt very scratchy to me. I’ve heard better reviews about Boll & Branch, so I really want to try again. These sheets are made in certified fair trade factories in India from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton with eco-friendly, non-toxic dyes. Andrew and I have upgraded our mattress, so the next step is to compile an amazing collection of sheets.

Twilight Grove Collection

The exact components are out of my price range, but I think this is my dream bed. Look how cozy and beautiful this set is: such gorgeous, diverse textures and soothing colors.

HIC Oblong Rectangular Baking Dish Roasting Lasagna Pan— $39.80

After reading about the toxicity of non-stick cookware at The Note Passer, I guess here’s another category of items to replace with safer ceramic, porcelain, glass and cast iron items. I think I should learn how to make lasagna, so this should come in handy.

Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven — $85.95

Purple? I want it. I might have to wait until I get married to ask for this stuff. Sigh. I think this one would be good for making delicious pork belly.

Cuisinart Stainless Steel 2-Quart Saucepan — $49.95

I think I have some non non-stick saucepans, so this one isn’t as urgent of a replacement. This looks beautiful though. I can make lots of tea in this.

All-Clad Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Bonded Fry Pan with Lid — $105.95

All of this stuff is insanely expensive, but I guess if we’re talking about cost per use, then it works out better.

Joyce Chen 14-in Carbon Steel Wok — $29.94

Alright, this is more in my price range. The thing with these types of cooking items is I’ll have to learn how to season the steel so it becomes non-stick. I struggle with my cast iron, so we’ll see if I can do any better going forward.

I’m trying to figure out what type of cutting board to get. Plastic can be sanitized in the dishwasher, but obviously I’m trying to move past that plastic life, ha. And then with wood you have to condition it with oil and only hand wash it. I’ll keep you guys updated on how that search goes.
