blue seas

I was lost in your eyes today. Those pristine, ocean eyes with a tint of smokey blue. I promised I would be different.

I promised I would not be swayed away by a pair of blue eyes,

another one,

painfully reminiscent,

of what I had and what I lost.

And yet I did.

I read once that we hold the universe in our eyes,

the sun, the moon, the truth, the lies.

Up until now I did not believe it,

yet when your eyes rested on mine

It became crystal clear

that not all that’s in books is fantasy,

perhaps something might be real.

I saw shooting stars and entire galaxies

a sea of blue

a sea of dreams

a sea of hopes and regrets

a sea I will never forget.
