Today we are going to look at very intriguing topic. As many know everything is borrowed. One publishers copy another. But what is the first source of inspiration? Hope today I will uncover this enigma. Thanks to Apptica.com for such a great opportunity to get creatives!

And all because the parental game is Hole.io by Voodooo. Old (but gold) gold game is still rules! It inspires to redesign creatives, refresh them to bring new life in own creatives.

In case of Lords Mobile creative is fusing of Hole.io main mechanic and feeding frenzy. FF — it’s a numeric mechanic when character is getting bigger as it consumes opponents with lower value.

What can you say about this creative of Lords Mobile?

Top War — one of my favorite games! Their team is awesome — every month new concepts. They made really tasty, attracting and great mixed in colors. Let’s take a look at this video:

Pretty same but adjusted to Snake Run game. Mechanic is simple — player goes through gates that increase or decrease size/amount.

These ones refer to Mob Control by Voodoo. Look at this video:

This mechanic is quite popular — simple, catchy and easy to understand. No surprise it’s a gamechanger!

Part 4

This group of creatives refers us to a simple mechanics: draw path to pass the level.

This Klondike creative took a thirsty sheep striving to find a water. Great adaptation!

Next one is by Rovio. I discussed it in previous article. Let’s take a look at this once more:

Mechanic is quite different but basis same: tap (not pass — that’s the difference) to pass the level.

Old but incredible mechanics! I predict we will see it much more times.

Part 5

Today n1 game on US in Action category is Fight for America. Let’s take a look at this creatives.

Looks like modified tower defense mechanics. Next one is pretty same but more mobile and interactive.

And the last one tower defense is also awesome example of how to vary your creatives.

I can’t say for sure what game was the first where these creatives were revealed. Maybe it’s a Bloons 3D? It’s an old game and it’s pretty hypercasualic.

Key findings

  1. Find ideas for creatives? Go to hypercasual to find more.
  2. In terms of hc games: go to very roots. Nowadays many mechanics from 2–3 years ago games got 2nd life.
  3. It’s possible to do even new game with same but bit improved mechanics. Hello Homa =)
