Who is it?

Bill Gates founded the world’s largest software company, Microsoft, in partnership with Paul Allen, through technological innovation and with the aim of connecting and empowering people. Later he will become one of the richest men in Technology.

Education

Bill Gates at age 13 stood out a lot at Lakeside Scholl in Seattle. His grades were amazing in math and science.

At this school Gates had his first contact with Informatics. He was fascinated by the power of a computer and spent many hours working on the Terminal. He wrote a tic-tac-toe program in BASIC computer language that allows users against the computer.

At Harvard University Bill Gates, but has just built a career in law to pursue his business, Microsoft is leaving with partner Paul Allen. Gates spent more time in the computer lab than in class.

Partnership with Paul Allen

At age 15, Gates and AllenData’s “Traf-o” is a computer program that monitors traffic patterns in Seattle. They raised $20,000 for their workouts. Parents together fund for a company, but Gate’s and would make sure he finished school, college and become a lawyer.

Separated by college, they still keep in touch. Allen showed an article about the Altair 8800 minicomputer kit. They were fascinated by the possibilities this computer could create in the world of personal computing.

Soon the two got in touch with the company Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems (MITS) that created the software to develop the software, as they can already go into a BASIC software program that runs it. During the process Gates and Allen were hired and worked together until the founding of Microsoft.

Microsoft

In 1975, Gates and Micro-Soft, an Allen form of “microcomputer” and “software”. The company’s first product was BASIC software that runs on the Altair computer.

Microsoft’s BASIC software was popular with computer enthusiasts, who obtained pre-market copies and reproduced and distributed them for free. Gates through a free distribution of software as a package especially when sold, which would end up discouraging developers.

By 1979 Microsoft was raising approximately $2.5 million. At 2, Gates was at the helm of the company, with a knack for software development and a keen business sense.

In 1980, Gates partnered with International Business Machines (IBM) to develop software for a personal computer (PC).

After developing software for IBM, between 1979 and 1981 Microsoft’s growth exploded. Staff increased from 25 to 128, and revenue soared 5 million from $2 million to $16 million.

In mid-1981, Gates and Allen merged into Microsoft, and Gates was named chairman and chairman of the board. Allen appointed was executive vice president. In 1983 an estimated 30% of the world’s computers ran on Microsoft software.

Rivalry with Steve Jobs

Although it is a legend, Microsoft and Apple share many of their early innovations in their rivalry software for Macintosh computers.

It was through this knowledge sharing that Microsoft developed Windows, a system that uses a mouse to trigger a graphical interface, displaying texts and images. This differs a lot from the text and keyboard driven MS-DOS system, a printed text format was all displayed on the screen as code and not what it would actually be.

Gates’ intelligence is designed for all sides of the software industry, from product development to corporate strategy.

Microsoft exit

In February 2014, Gates stepped down as president of Microsoft to take on a new position as a technology consultant.

Wealth

In March 1986, Gates took Microsoft public with an initial public offering (IPO) of $21 a share, in March 1986, an instant millionaire at age 31. $520 million from Microsoft.

Over time, the company’s shares increased in value and split several times over. In 1987, Gates became a billionaire when the stock hit $90.75 a share. Since then, Gates has not been at the top of Forbes’ annual list of the 400 richest people in the United States.

In 199, Bill and Melindaam the William H. Gates Foundation, which are dedicated to a worldwide education, health care and investment in low-income communities around the world.

Awards

One of the most influential people of the 20th century by Time Magazine.

In 2006, Gates and his wife were awarded the Order of the Aztec Eagle by the Mexican government for their philanthropic work around the world in the fields of health and education.

In 2016, the couple was again recognized for their philanthropic work by receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama.
