I disagree with the part how people wont think you’re easy going if you dont follow up a given statement with ‘haha’. Sure they will. Well at least some albeit living in this self absorbed, “Is she thinking about me, today, or how can I get their attention?” cyber world city of insecurities .Yes I am focusing this more on women because I bet your best pair of shoes this quip of an article is run on data with a high count of estrogen. We live on the fourth leg of that dreaded century beast : Century of the Self. Since Bernays at the outset of the 20th century colluded with the US government to divert the latent mass-hysteria of an entire country of post-war civilians he systematically lassoed in woman, first by giving them (puny) power in the act of smoking. Now they have penises, too. Focusing on the self, via appliances, and the rest of the free world now reflecting the individual’s tastes, needs and wants. Fashion was also targeted with slogans of wearing how you feel a particular day, etc. Again women are targeted. As we move through the baby boomer generation being bred on TV this Century of the Self syndrome reaches zenith proportions and as we have seen Steve Jobs producing computer equipment serving as an extension to the self .We may want to see if his fidgety, standoffish , and do not contradict me superior attitude has indeed leaked into the very software we all now use. Like a ghost in the machine. Zuckerburg has a lot in common with Jobs. One infection in a FB reply can set off so many little idle kings or queens of the suburbs to a point of being unfriended- but not by the cooler members of society who WILL NOT SUBMIT. A larger picture of how social media will epigenetically change humans has yet to be monitored. But one thing is for certain, as well as it should be expected, that women be treated as equals in any given metropolitan society. It has come to my attention since I was getting into college life how men are always trying to get the time of day from the opposite sex to the point of changing their diets, their musical tastes, their attire, even their major so as to be accepted by the other half of the world’s population. Yes it was the other way around (a tragedy, in either case,to be sure). It is never black-and -white but this continuing reverse psychological trend may be hitting its zenith. Well, at least in my mind. Also, perhaps in many other’s that are just getting to see a trend, here. I am not surprised that this article is by a woman. Especially if more women than men really get annoyed by “haha”, I say to guys, nah pay her no mind, say Nay, to her or anybody else who has nothing better to do with themselves. If anyone who says they are your friend wants you to change stuff about your character don’t unfriend them just end your replies with “Haha”
