“ A lot of great scenes without much characterization.”

Yes! Thank You!

Besides Tom Hardy, the people from the boat and Harry Styles I had no idea who was who, or their names, or why should I be invested on their survival.

Especially George, I mean why was that kid important? Was he an orphan? Why was he tagging along? Was he like a family friend? Dude has three lines and his dead is played like a HUGE DEAL.

I get the part of the anonimity of war and all, if that was the objective of the movie. But if you are going to spend the entire movie with like 6 important characters and I know the name of none of them it seems like a problem.
