How to: Associate Cloud Engineer

Following up from my last blog. Here s how to prep for the exam.

I completed the Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals course on Pluralsight. This gave a good introduction into the infrastructure and components of GCP.
I read the guide book. Every chapter. Consecutively. Including the lab walkthroughs.
I reread the guide book and highlighted all the information I didn’t know but was vital and memorised anything I could.
Once I have completed all the above, I went in and drew a mindmap of the key concepts, their applications and overlapping topics. This was very helpful to get a clearer picture of each concept, where it fits and why it is vital.
I created a checklist of every chapter, every end of chapter test, and every Qwiklabs that I felt was relevant to the labs in the guide book and went through them in order. I only checked each one off once I ensured I understood all the content and I got 100% on the end of chapter practice.
I completed all the Qwiklabs mentioned above. Please mind that just completing the labs doesn’t mean you have practice, try and understand each step and why you are doing it.
At this stage, I was lucky that Dan Sullivan (author of the guide book) offered a voucher on Linkedin to get access to his Udemy course for free! So, I completed that course. Part of the course was a practice exam at the end. The first round, I failed with 78%, the second I failed and the last I passed.
I felt I was almost ready to take the exam, so as a last prep, I redid all the command line based questions and re read all the real life scenarios from the guide book.
