It is easy to shove groups like the KKK and Neo-Nazis back into the dark hole from which they came through the use of violence. What do you think the Civil War, the military occupation of the South during Reconstruction, and World War II was about?
The issue, though, is once driven underground; they grow in the darkness like mold in your basement. Unseen and forgotten. Only to surface that day you moved the boxes sitting in the corner only to realizing that your priceless pictures are now ruined by mold.
Groups like the KKK will always shrink away from a fight. This is their nature, but this doesn’t mean Antifa is winning the war.
My deeper concern is one day a group of Antifa will show up, and the other side will be a wacko group of militants who will pull out their guns and shoot the Antifa protestors dead in the streets. Sounds improbable, but it’s possible. The next step is Antifa protesters will then arm themselves and now we have an arms race.
Violence will always breed more violence.
There are better ways to deal with hate groups like the KKK and Neo-Nazis then to confront them with forceful protests.
As a society we should seek more peaceful ways to rid ourselves culturally of the crazy ideologies of groups like the KKK and Neo-Nazis versus turning towards confrontational protests in the streets.
