The Rebellious Fail

Rules are meant to be abided by. If you ever meet a guy who seems like a rebel, then you can be pretty sure he has a miserable life. That’s because society tends to reject people who try to rebel against the established order of things. Being edgy doesn’t work. This is perhaps the most important social lesson that you will ever learn.
We’re often led to believe that the system is what holds us back. We’ve been told that the true heroes are those who ignore the status quo to do their own “thing”. But that’s not quite true. History tells us that successful people never actually rebel against the system; instead, they abide by it and use it for their own purposes.
Warren Buffet is an excellent example. There are a lot of people out there who buy stocks hoping to get rich quick — not Mr. Buffet. He knows that good business isn’t about trying to outsmart the system; it’s about accepting it. Instead of trying to find one stock to make a fortune, he simply played it cool and invested cautiously. He’s now worth over 70 billion dollars.
Here’s food for thought: Can you think of one timeless event in history where rebellious behavior had a positive lasting effect? I think you’ll find that there aren’t many, if any.
