108 ft BASAVESWARA STATUE in Basava Kalyana, Karma Bhoomi Of Basavanna

Humanist, social reformer, and leading light Basaveswara has a 108-feet tall statue dedicated to him in his karma Bhoomi Basava Kalyan. The statue installation was initiated in 2012 by Basava Dharma Peetha’s Mate Mahadevi. Basava Kalyan in general and the Basaveswara statue, in particular,have drawn the Basava Sharanas (devotees of the Basava path) and tourists alike. All around the statue at the base of it, various sculptures depicting the village life and the life of devotion for a Basava sharana are on display.

WHERE IS IT?

It is in Bidar district’s Basava Kalyan town. The statue has been consecrated with support from the Basava Dharma Peetha.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Basava Kalyan, which is along the Bidar-Solapur highway can be accessed from Kalaburgi, too. It is 80 km from Bidar. Buses ply to Bidar but traveling in your own vehicle to access the statue premises is ideal.
