Introducing AppSolid for Unity

by Min Pyo Hong

Today we’re excited to announce AppSolid for Unity, a simple plugin that protects your game against hacking and piracy. We are also happy to announce that this plugin now supports both Android and iOS games built with the Unity engine, giving us the ability to provide security coverage for games in both app stores.

For the last two years we’ve partnered with mobile game developers and publishers to come up with a complete solution that would provide comprehensive protection against all the major issues that they face — from cracked versions, copycats, piracy, payment fraud, ad fraud, and more. One platform that developers emphasized time and time again was Unity. It has a 45% market share and 4.5M registered developers. That’s a lot of games!

A separate plugin product for Unity was the simplest and most elegant way for developers to use our services for both Android and iOS platforms, and our beta testers agreed. Our plugin can be used during the normal development and compile process, producing a secure version of your game directly from the Unity development environment. In simple terms, we are giving people a powerful security tool that is simple to use.

Prominent features of the plugin include:

  • Prevent copycats, cracks, and piracy with anti-reverse engineering features
  • Binary obfuscation and encryption of core files and libraries
  • Source code protection
  • Memory hacking protection
  • App tampering monitoring — learn about hacking attempts when they happen
  • Payment spoofing blocking

It’s been a long journey for everyone involved, and we want to thank all our engineers for their hard work, and all the game developers and publishers for helping to design and test AppSolid for Unity. Sign up at http://appsolid.co for your free 30 day full trial today!
