Human Life is Fragile

Even though I am not a parent, I feel you. The sorrow of losing his son at such a tender age is unimaginable, especially when such incident could have been prevented if some preventive actions had been taken. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying that the police are at fault for interviewing the suspect without parents’ presence but rather some form of counselling can be procured for the boy before letting him to return home after the interview. (mind you, he’s still a minor)

Speaking as a fellow Singaporean, I wished things could have ended a different way but what has happened, happened. May the school Principal, Singapore Police Force and relevant authorities learn from this episode and review their current procedures in interviewing minors.

Mr Brown, I wish all the best to you and hope such incidents will be kept away from you and your children. Glad to see you’re a loving parent!
