Los Angeles, California

Los Angeles is a place of hard work and dreams. To a younger me, it gave me hope to achieve anything that I wanted through time and effort. Los Angeles made me want to be someone important when I grow up. Los Angeles is a place where all the important hard working people are, from NASA to top ranking Hollywood actors and producers. Los Angeles is like reaching the top of a mountain after a long, strenuous hike. When I was a small child, I went there often to visit my family. Every time I went made my desire grow even stronger. I was a flower feeding off of the sun because I needed something to support my hopes. I remember walking around in the vicious summer heat, looking at stars on the walk of fame. The smooth black and white texture of the floor with the red and white stars was very unique and vibrant to me, a combination of colors I had never thought of. The tall buildings reaching the sky too. The tall buildings symbolized something important to me, the thought that “the sky’s the limit.” All of this motivated me to work hard, whether it was in school, or anything else. All for the purpose of wanting to grow up to be someone important.

San Francisco, California

Like Los Angeles, San Francisco is also a place where many important people are. I currently visit San Francisco much more than Los Angeles due to distance and availability. The setting of the two are significantly different. In San Francisco, I usually feel the cold breezes chilling up my spine. The ocean gives the wind a cold touch. In San Francisco, there are a lot of sky scrapers, but also many buildings that are more casual and don’t stand out too much. The smaller buildings are usually made of concrete and give me a sense of comfort to not push myself too much. Although the small buildings represent not going over the limit, there are also the tall buildings which represent trying to reach the top. To me, they can show hard work while also staying in a relatively average environment. San Francisco itself represents a lot of hard working people that try to make the area a better place. This gives inspiration to many people who are struggling in certain aspects of their lives. This inspires me because it shows communities helping each other so everyone can benefit. The hard work pushes people to excel. That’s what many people, including me, want. We want to be able to make it to the top.

School Materials

The feeling of the glass touching my fingertips. The smooth wooden pencil and the soft smooth rubber eraser. All of these are symbols for all of the hard work I put into myself, and my education as well. In 60 years, these will be the most important objects in my life. The reason for this is because these are what opened so many doors for me. These allowed me to achieve what I wanted in life through all of my hard work. These allowed me to travel where I wanted and to live a relaxing, calm life. I finally reached the top of the mountain I was trying my best to get up to. All the hard work and dedication allowed me to be someone who helped change the world in a positive way. These defined who I am; a hard working person who tries their best to achieve their dreams. Pencils and erasers are what helped some of the most successful people succeed, even if they seem like such useless objects to some people. Pencils and erasers represent education, and with education comes hard work. My personality fits in perfectly with that, a hard worker who is always looking to improve and learn.
