She is right. While I applaud the Decency Pledge Reid put forth, and the strong stance the Foundry Group has taken with their zero tolerance on sexual harassment, they are, at best, beginnings.

First, thanks for this. I appreciate it for me, and for all women. Thank you.

The Decency Pledge gives me heartburn for many reasons. I guess they think it is a start but we are way past the point of needing a good start, especially among a crowd that controls so many companies/so much wealth. We don’t need incremental steps, we need men to start sharing the power, starting with access to capital. It would be way more meaningful to make an “Invest $100 million in 3 Years In Women-Led Companies” pledge. The women-led companies are out there, in the pipeline, now.
