Here same, I’d like to eventually jump back to IT, now I’ve been immersed in the Telco field for the last 5 years. Not only it’s not easy to switch, it’s also frustrating to keep your status, I barely find offers according to my current salary, and I guess that’s ok. I’m not an expert on the new technologies but we should be seen as Engineers (not the person who has a tittle, the person who solves problems), as people with problem solving capacity. You are right, you just need to get started. I really enjoy your post, very inspirational.
