A Star Wars Story

Day 4 of the 100 Word Project

“Hey, man, it’s cool as long as the lightsabers don’t touch.”

Senior year of high school, my friends and I were camped outside the Harkins Metrocenter 12, waiting to watch The Phantom Menace. Even though I had seen the original trilogy many, many times, waiting in that line made me feel like part of the fandom for the first time.

And then Jar Jar happened.

Thus began my steady free fall back toward ambivalence. I remember leaving the theater thinking what the hell did I just watch? And, in that moment, I was over it — at least until I saw The Force Awakens. Man, that movie blew my fragile mind apart.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
