Nazis and Nazi hunters.

You Read it right Nazi and Nazi hunters, that’s exactly what this is about.

The Hunters
The Hunters

It takes place in NYC in the late 70's after the 2nd World War, where racism, bell bottoms and good music thrived together.

The story revolves around a Jew teenage comic book nerd owning a comic book store who has a condition now known as Apophenia(It is the spontaneous perception of connection and meaningfulness of unrelated phenomena) [Basically the boy can find patterns and connections, very useful for finding money laundering I would say] named Jonah, who lost his savta (Hebrew for grandmother) to a murder. The boy meets many of his Savta’s friends, who were with her in the Nazi camps. His grandmother was one of the survivors from the Holocausts after the war

The boy meets Meyer Offerman, another survivor who helps him find his savta’s killer. Upon which it’s revealed to Jonah that Meyer and his grandmother Ruth had created a group which hunts down the Nazi that were found living in hiding in New York City. Ruth first spots The Wolf in NY, the main antagonist in her and Meyer’s life. She then with the help of Meyer forms a super Nazi killing squad(way better than the Suicide Squid).

Jonah then takes upon himself of finding The wolf and all the other Nazi war criminals, this course leads to the death of his best friend and also finding out that something big will go down in the city. Later it is found that the Colonel is the head of this Nazi group planning to kill all the US (mainly Jews) citizens to take over.

This, of course is stopped by Jonah and his team, but the path to stop the Colonel leads to a few uncertain deaths and a very heart breaking revelation. A fire breaks out in the factory which helps in stopping the big plan of The wolf, not before a few cool fights.

The general escapes the fire in the factory and is living a happy country life. But we get to know that Joe Mizushima gets kidnapped by the Nazi as there is a scene where Joe is sitting among young boys at a dinner table.

This table though is being set by The colonel who then calls out to someone.

Wait for it …….

This shot of that person is slowly panned to him walking from the farm to sit at the head of the dinner table, slowing revealing a man with a cane and wearing a beige color uniform having a very small but a very prominent mustache, to add to that description lets add a hat on top.

Did you get it?, well if you didn’t I’ll give you another clue, The Colonel calls him Adolf and the shot closes.

Well, if you still didn’t get it, it’s either that you’re a kid reading this adult content series review or you must be terrible with your History lessons.

One of the shocking revelations of this journey was the fact that the US government had made a deal with the Nazi’s (at least the Intelligent ones) by giving them new names, address and citizenship to the US on the condition that they would work for them.

This satire/ inspiration from the true events is a must watch series. The story line looks very promising and whole, which leaves the audience asking for more not before making us almost believe — was that what people used to do in the 70's.

Lets just talk about the cast, because boy oh boy, it’s one hell of a cast with some outstanding performances. Just to give you guys a glimpse — its Al Pacino and Logan Lerman at their finest works.

The series airs on Amazon Prime, I would definitively recommend my friends and family to watch this show. It’s on my top binge worthy list. Give it shot.
