I understand your pain, and the danger you face. What I do not understand is why you feel that you are entitled to protection by US law within US territories. You said it yourself, you walked over the border without papers, by your own admission, you committed a federal crime, and you applied for Asylum. You are conveniently forgetting in the case of application, it gets approved or disapproved, nothing is certain. Perhaps what you think is a real and incontrovertible truth is not as real or as incontrovertible as you thought it was. I know many people, both in Canada and the US, with verified police records of assassination attempts or kidnappings who were denied asylum. From your account, it looks as though did not suffer either one. I know you are a journalist, and from what you have said, one who asks difficult questions. I will not say that your life is not in danger, it may very well is. But the point is you applied for asylum and it was denied. That is the only real question, not whether you deserve it or not, but you were denied asylum and now you are sour gaping about it. You should try being a journalist in the Philippines, there journalists who ask the difficult questions do not get threatened, sometimes they just die. And guess what not a whole lot of them, ask for asylum anywhere.
