Hello everyone and welcome to Voxies by Shadow(Y)Gamers! My name is Mightmare and in this article I am going to do my best to explain what Voxies are, their purpose and the huge potential the project has.

Play to earn

⦁ Passive income

⦁ The Voxel token

⦁ A vast gaming experience

⦁ AAA Devs (from games like assassins creed, harry potter, burnout, etc)

⦁ Potential future Esports

⦁ F2P (Free to play)

⦁ Races/Classes/Rarity

⦁ Game Launch and Demo

Voxies is a tactical RPG inspired by Final Fantasy tactics, among other tactical RPG games.

Demo expected launch date: Early October

Full game launch expected: Late December

Firstly, Voxies are very different from most pfp (profile picture project) projects. These NFTs have utility — REAL utility that will also create passive income (that’s not to say that some pfp projects don’t have utility). These 10,000 characters will be unique, playable nfts within a game. Unlike other projects that try to get funding in order to make the game, this game has been in the making for years and was a game first with the blockchain component added later. You can check out the developers youtube here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtnVWLPlC-XrkefiJRifDWQ and see that he has been creating the voxel engine for almost 10 years. You can also check out the gameplay, which I think looks extremely cool! It’s pretty clear that a lot of time and effort has been put into creating a game that is fun to play and immersive.

For those of you who love doing your research (I would strongly advise EVERYONE to do research before entering a project, especially in the NFT genre), there is a section on the voxies.io website where you can see the developer profiles and game titles worked on.

Here is a list for the main developer:

Previous employers include Ubisoft and EA. Previous game credits include:

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

■ Watch Dogs Legion

■ Immortals Fenyx Rising

■ Ghost Recon Breakpoint

■ The Division 2

■ Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

■ Far Cry 5

■ For Honor

■ Numerous games in the Harry Potter franchise

■ Burnout

Other main developer:

Most recently working at Warner Brothers Games and credited on the following titles:

Mortal Kombat 11

■ Gotham Knights

■ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

There are more Developers, more advisors (such as https://twitter.com/TheSmarmyBum who is head of consumer product marketing at TWITTER) and mods. Billsfan (Jake) Has over a decade of experience in sales and marketing in the technology space, helping companies grow into the hundreds of millions in revenue. Check them out here https://voxies.io/company-overview/ But note not all advisors are currently updated on the website.

Personally I haven’t seen a more impressive team within the gaming NFT space and everything is really well thought out, with a lot of giving back to the community.

Voxies will have a unique combination of passive income while also being p2e for f2p players. So, you ask, what are the benefits for purchasing Voxies and how will the eco system work?

Player owned Voxies (The first 10k Voxies) currently earn Voxel tokens each week. Every Thursday a snapshot is taken of who holds which Voxies and an allocation for that wallet is tracked on Voxies main website https://voxies.io/wallet/. At the date of writing this (19/9/2021), there have been 4 weeks of token allocation with a further 20 weeks to go. There are 24 weeks of token allocation. In total, the tokens distributed will be 2% of the total market cap for the voxel token, which is quite a lot for just holding Voxies in your wallet!

The Voxel token will be used in game to purchase items, weapons and armours. It will also be available on various exchanges (waiting on confirmation for which exchanges) where players will be able to trade it vs fiat or other crypto of their choice.

It has been said (but not yet confirmed 100% on how it will be implemented) that Voxies will create an in game system by which you can rent out your Voxies to other players. Player owned Voxies will have a higher rate of RNG vs the stock characters in F2P. It has also been said that player owned Voxies will be customisable with weapons, armour etc, whereas stock Voxies won’t have such a privilege. This gives people great incentive to rent Voxies, whether it is for battles in the open pvp league (more on this later), or to farm with a higher rate of RNG and for better loot.

There’s a lot of speculation currently around how the next generations of Voxies will be created. The Dev team have hinted that it will be done using a crafting format and that it will only be possible to “recruit” these new Voxies by using the original gen 0 Voxies. A lot of this isn’t confirmed yet and so is subject to change. However it gives a pretty good idea of the route the Dev team are looking to take in the future.

Pvp! You love Pvp? I love Pvp.

There will be two player vs player leagues in Voxies. One will be for stock characters (great for f2p players and puts all on an equal playing field) and one will be an open league where all weapons, Voxies and items etc will be allowed. This caters to both f2p and those that have invested. The main thing is that this is NOT GOING TO BE PAY TO WIN. There will be an element of it in the open league, but the way the game is designed the Dev team have said pretty clearly that even common Voxies will be able to defeat legendary Voxies and that it will rely heavily on skill and understanding game mechanics.

Open world. Yes, there will NPC characters in the game and quests, multiple story arcs and a variety of ways to play the game. There will be secret areas, ways to upgrade your Voxies and lots of things to collect! Such as pets!

Pets! Did someone say pets?!

Yes. Fancy a mini skeleton to go with your skeleton Voxie? Maybe a fire breathing dragon that will help you to collect and hoard gold?

Pets are in game companions that will accompany your Voxie. Currently they are in the form of “unhatched” eggs. These eggs will hatch closer to game launch and reveal your pet. There are 20 pets in total, with 4 different affinities. Land, Flying, Water, Special. Pets will have their own abilities and also complement your Voxie in battle. They will be interchangeable, which means that if you have a pet on one character, you can put it onto another Voxie you own. Why not put that DPS pet onto your healing Voxie? Just an idea.

As with pets, the items in game are also interchangeable. You should take this into account when collecting your Voxies as one might have a weapon or item that could be used on another Voxie to vastly improve its ability within the game.

Rarity of player owned Voxies:

There are six kinds of rarity,

Common

Uncommon

Rare

Epic

Legendary

Godly

It’s very likely that the higher the rarity, the better RNG your Voxie will have in game. It has been hinted at STRONGLY.

Classes! Wanna be a sneaky Thief? Or maybe a teleporting Alien?

In terms of rarity, it goes like this:

Pirate — Samurai — Chemist — Timemage — Hawkknight — Thief — Monk — Druid — Bard — Ninja — Knight — Ranger — Necromancer — Warrior — Black mage — Priest — White Mage — Robo — Squire — Monster

In terms of price it’s probably easier to put them into certain price categories.

Category A (Most expensive) = Pirate, Samurai, Chemist

Category B = Timemage, Hawknight, Thief (thief is in-between category B and C)

Category C = All other classes. These classes are fairly similar in terms of price (at time of writing this article) however that is likely to change with gameplay.

It should be noted that some class/race combinations might be more sought after than others.

Races

Human — Doge — Fox — Zombie — Robot — Alien — Skeleton — Dragon — Red Robot (From least to most rare). Each race has two abilities, active and passive. Certain races are suited to certain classes, for example a fox has added Dexterity as its passive skill, so would suit a class which has Dex as its primary stat. These added abilities give another layer to battles and choosing teams, increasing the variations and possibility of builds.

Esports! Let’s get competitive.

The game mechanics and naturally competitive nature of this game will make it a great candidate for Esports gaming. Think of 4d chess and you might be somewhere close… only a lot more fun! (sorry chess lovers, I LIKE chess!). There has been talk among the Developers/community that this might be an option in the future. I stress “might” be as there hasn’t been any confirmation and if it does take place it would likely be further down the line.

And to end… for anyone thinking of getting themselves their own Voxie, there’s quite a few things you need to take into account. This is a game where even a Common Voxie can beat a Legendary… and it is the same with prices in the Voxie market. There are some commons that are as valuable as Legendary Voxies. It is worth taking some time to ask questions in the discord — or keep your eyes open for my next post! In the next post I will be going over rarity, races, classes, items, stats and what they mean for your Voxie in terms of battling and how valuable they are!

All the best and see you around.
