Hello everyone and welcome to Voxies by Shadow (Y) Gamers! My name is Mightmare and in this article I will be giving you a short rundown on PVP dynamics and how you will earn within the game!
⦁ How PVP is structured
⦁ RNG rates and how to improve them
⦁ Genesis Voxies and benefits
⦁ The value of owning a genesis Voxie
⦁ How free to play players will earn in Voxies
⦁ Overview
Before we start I must say that the information in this article is based on the information we have currently — some things will be subject to change.
How PVP is structured
It is important to note that there will be two PVP leagues within Voxies and that they are distinctly different. The first one we will discuss is the “stock” league (name yet to be confirmed). In this PVP league, there will be a total of 12 stock Voxies that players can use to battle with. This means that everyone will be on a level playing field in this league, so your ability to earn and win prizes is hugely dependent upon your skills and ability within the game. This is a great leveller for those who are F2P or don’t own many Voxies.
For each battle within the stock league, a player will be presented with 6 of the 12 potential Voxies (this is randomly generated before battle) and a player will be allowed to choose 3 of the 6 to play with. It should be noted that ALL PVP battles are 3v3. Choose wisely here, because this will be your first test of ability and have a big influence on the battle ahead.
As well as being given the choice of Voxies, there will be a total of 24 stock items (this might be adjusted in the future) within the Stock Voxie league. Similar to how you chose your first 3 Voxies, you will be presented with 12 of the 24 items when the match starts. From these, you will be able to choose 6 items to take into the battle. Be mindful of the items you choose as certain Voxies rely more on specific stats.
Tiers? Tiers! Tears for the losers and higher tiers for the winners!
The league will consist of tiers (it is said there will be 5 tiers, but that might be subject to change) and that for each tier you climb, the rewards and prizes will increase. For those of you with the ability and skill to reach the final tier, there will be a separate ladder of prizes for the best players in the game. These prizes will be exponentially more valuable than the prizes in the lower tiers. Once again, you are rewarded for your skill and understanding of the game mechanics. It will likely be very profitable for those who reach this final tier of rewards.
It should be noted that in order to play in the stock league, there will be a small fee payable in Voxel tokens. Voxel tokens will be found in game (if you are F2P, you can farm them) and you will also be able to purchase them on select exchanges, although the specific exchanges haven't yet been confirmed. You will also be able to trade for them in game!
The No Hodl Barred league. As with the stock league, this league will be 3v3. However, in this league you will be able to bring in any Voxies/items you own. That teleporting Samurai Alien? Your common doge and his pet dragon? Yep, all are welcome!
For those who don’t currently own a Voxie NFT, you will be able to choose from a list of stock characters/items. Likewise, if you only own one Voxie, you will be able to fill out the rest of your team with the stock characters and items provided.
Another big difference in this league compared to the stock league is the rewards. While in the stock league you will earn prizes and rewards, your ability to progress within the No Hodl Barred arena will reward you with a higher rate of RNG within game. This means that the further you progress, the better your RNG will be within the Voxies PVE part of the game. Don’t underestimate having a higher rate of RNG… this will directly affect how much you can earn as you play and grind the game on a daily basis.
RNG rates and how to improve them:
RNG (Random number generator) is what gives you a higher percentage chance of finding items, voxels and other cool stuff within Voxies. The higher your RNG, the more chance you have of finding better items and accumulating more voxel tokens — both of which you will be able to sell to other players.
The development team have said that RNG will be based on a combination of your NFT owned Voxies and your PVP ranking. With an even 50/50 split in percentage, that means 50% of your RNG rate will have to be earned in the No Hodl Barred league! Therefore, if you don’t own any NFT Voxies, you will really want to improve your ranking in that arena. Remember, each league will last between 1–2 months (hasn’t been confirmed), so your ranking will last for the next 1–2 months of play time. This can drastically affect the value of your finds over that period of time.
The other 50% of your RNG comes from your player owned, NFT Voxies. The exact formula hasn’t yet been announced, however the dev team were pretty clear in saying that the higher the rarity of your Voxie, the higher rate of RNG it will have within the game.
Why should I buy a genesis Voxie now?
If you’ve read up until this point, then you will already know the benefits of owning your own Voxie. On top of having an increased rate of RNG, holding Voxies now entitles you to the voxel token allocation that happens every Thursday (will end early next year). You will find more information on that here in my other article → https://medium.com/@shadowygamers/voxies-common-questions-what-gives-a-voxie-value-4a813a066d9e
Another huge factor is that genesis Voxies will be able to produce the next generations of Voxies — and ONLY genesis Voxies will be able to do so. This means that owning a genesis Voxie will give you the ability to create more Voxies in the future. It should be understood though that while having a genesis Voxie is a key part to crafting new Voxie recruits (you won’t be able to do it without a genesis Voxie), you will also need certain in game items in order to create the Voxies. This means you will either need to find those items yourself or purchase them from other players.
Renting! I’m a rent boy! Uh… I like to rent out Voxies.
Yes, you will be able to rent out your Voxies. There will be an in game system by which you can rent out your Voxies to earn a passive income. It’s been said but not yet confirmed that each player will be able to set the parameters of their lease — so you can either charge a fee or take a percentage of drops/loot. Items, weapons and armours will also have the same function and players will be able to rent and loan these, too. So, that higher rate of RNG you accumulated in the league that allowed you to find more items? Well, now you can rent out those items too in order to bring in even more income! Lovely.
I’m a free to play player! How do I earn monies?! I want monies.
As a free to play player you will have the option to play PVE and grind items and voxel tokens as well as enter into the PVP leagues. The No Hodl Barred league will be entirely free to enter and it is in this league where you will earn an increased RNG rate. As a free player, you will really want to increase your ranking within this league in order to increase your daily drops/loot.
Farming items and voxel tokens. By farming items and voxel tokens this will create an income — how much depends on your abilities and luck with drops. After gaining the voxels from PVE, you will be able to use those voxels to enter the PVP “stock” league, where there will be huge prizes for those with the most skill. Alternatively, you could always just sell your voxels and the items you find.
Like with many things in life, your rewards as a F2P player will be dependent upon the effort you put in. If you grind hard and work your way up in the PVP leagues, you will be rewarded hugely. If you want to just log in for 15 minutes a day to collect a daily reward and make bank… it’s unlikely you will get much of a reward. This has been designed as a prevention for bots and to reward those who take the time to learn and understand the game mechanics.
There will be certain items found in game that will potentially have huge value. While being a F2P player gives you a reduced RNG vs player owned Voxies, you still have a chance of finding those items. If you have increased your ranking in PVP, there’s the potential that you could have just as much, if not more of an RNG rate than some players who have NFT owned Voxies.
Overview:
In the end this game rewards those who put in the effort. Personally I think it is great that F2P players have the ability to earn in a game like this! You get to play a fun game, be competitive and at the same time have the potential to make an income. If you work hard, play smart and take the time to learn the game and its mechanics, then you will reap the rewards. It is a game that everyone can play and enjoy — which makes a nice change in the P2E/NFT space and I am excited to see where this leads and how things unfold.
I hope to see you guys/girls around in the future and wish you all the best of luck in your battling journey! Go get that loot and earn those Voxels!
