Formatted Gun

Today is the anniversary of the Triangle Factory Fire,

In which 114 people died, mostly teenagers, and young women.

At the time, it led to legislation which helped improve factory conditions.

It ignited the public to fight for change, and as opposed to today,

We gathered, we discussed, and we were considered and heard.

We had a voice, a collective influence.

But now they say we are distracted.

That we are too comfortable to struggle.

But how much can we bother,

If we don’t feel any purpose,

Because it has no meaning

When twenty children

Don’t make it home.

And still, even my dog

Who has anxiety

Can get loaded,

Without even

The slightest look back

From standing his ground

As long as he pays by check.
