Jesus Denies Being Called Good & Attributes it to God

The question of Jesus’ Divinity is a highly contested topic within Christianity at large, with on the one hand many Christians believe he is indeed God, while others believe he is the Son of God and fewer believing he is just a Prophet of God, similar to the position of Muslims who believe Jesus to be a Prophet of God born through his Mother Mary by a virgin birth.

• “a man” — doesn’t say God
• which I heard from God — A man who heard from God indicates he is not God but someone who is in contact with God, a messenger

• Believe in God and also in me makes a clear distinction between God & Jesus

Jesus Calls Claiming Divinity Evil

• Many Christians will say this is a horrible mistranslation and the correct translation is “This man blasphemed.” However, the blasphemy he did according to the Pharisees is claiming to be God.
