Activity : Reaching out to HR professionals (Practice of PASSENGER- Equip and Real)

It was a great experience for us to arrange a meeting with HR professional to practice equip and real.We had a group of 3 members. First of all we had to find an HR person with email or phone number so that we could get an appointment. After a lot of struggle and research through LinkedIn and other online job groups, we found a person in Systems Strategic International (a software development company ). Mr. Babar is Assistant Manager at SSI (Strategic Systems International), We sent him an email for appointment and requested him to give us only 10–15 minutes from his precious time. He replied back to our email and gave us the time of 12:30 pm on Thursday. So all of our group members reached there at given time on Thursday. We asked him many questions related to our project. Here are few questions we asked during our meeting:

Q: Why interview is important instead of selecting on skype, seeing online resume and other platform?

Ans: Interview is the basic component of whole process and face to face meeting is comfortable for both the interviewers and interviewee. We prefer Skype etc when interviewee is out of city or country.

Q: Why equipment and real plays an important role in recruitment process?

Ans: Equipment like resume and cover letter are very important and if recruiter asked you to bring resume etc when appearing in interview then it is mandatory for candidate to follow instruction. And being real is very important for selection because we judge and quickly realize the true picture of candidate’s ability during interview.

Q: In your experience,how important do you think it is to be yourself in interview?

Ans: Actually its basically mean that you should communicate the things about which you are aware off.It will you to lead the interview instead of communicated something you are not aware off.

Q : How do you identify if a candidate is real or not during the interview?

Ans: He said that their experience helped them either the candidate is real or he is pretended to be real. For example if interviewer ask what was your favorite subject at university you should tell which you command on not tell them in which you are not good.

Q : What suggestions you may have on how to fully prepared/equipped for an interview?

A: Most important thing is confident. other is non verbal communication etc. Fully equipped mean you must be prepared for all the soft and hard skills related to that job especially which are mentioned on JD.

Q : How much the dressing of candidate matter in front of you?

A: Obviously dressing matters a lot in which you are comfortable and confident.

Q : Did you have enough time to receive the resume in person or you prefer that candidate should email their resume?

A: When you personally go to drop your CV many people told you to drop it on reception and we will call you if we have vacancy. but when you send online application or your resume online it is most effective way. and we have to answer the email as soon as possible.

So we discussed the above mentioned questions with him in the limited time we have allotted from him.it was a brainstorming project for all of us and a fascinating learning experience.

Takeaway: We have learnt a lot about what are our proper preparation for an interview. We have to show our passion by our confidence level, body language non verbal communication + verbal communication so may we can lead the interview and avail the opportunity.
