In London and Wales Knife crime was rising sprightly after 2007. A horrific incident involving the stabbing of a 16 yr old boy in London (2008) really forced the public and judicials to put things into perspective. It was deemed necessary to find a solution to the vehement issue.

In prompt response UK police launched the NO KNIVES CAMPAIGN where in education the young (10–21) about the dangers of carrying knives . A series aimed at mothers encouraging children to talk about issue was introduced

One such successful youth led charity was LIVES NOT KNIVES campaign

According to recent Statistical reports the data is seen to rise again to 45000. The maximum imprisonment was declared at 4 years and the minimum went to about 6 months
