Very interesting read and thanks for the insight that we would never have thought of otherwise! But but…I will say that everyone was made fun of on the show at some point or another. Also, there were enough intellectually stimulating shows and even are today that are hugely popular and even the light comedy or mindless tv watching variety make a point of turning to these serious, nerdy shows. They get their due. Because the truth is — FRIENDS was a comedy show, it was meant to take jibes and make us laugh. If FRIENDS was created as a drama show I am sure Ross’s character would have been treated with a richer and befitting script.
