As someone who has recently been working remotely for a while, I can say that a downside is that it can tend to be boring at times. Without people to talk to things can get a little monotonous, especially if the work you happen to be doing at that time isn’t the most exciting thing in the world. Yes, you can talk to people on Slack (or whatever your team equivalent is), but I find that it doesn’t quite match being in the office itself.
However, I do find that I’m able to concentrate a lot more without any distractions that you typically get in an office.
What I’ve found the most helpful is having a hybrid approach, going in the office for some (or one in my case) days of the week and working remotely the rest of the time.
