Sometimes my scope and meta practise as programmer and my work in other artistic fields heavily collide. In programming I think about concepts and potential mega structures that maintain themselves in the future and provide proper infrastructure for information and “ART” or “content” flow between “PEOPLE” or “consumers” or “COLLABORATORS”. In the art I am merely a user of those technologies currently at hand. Usually they have major flaws. (like blogging on facebook, but that’s another story)
The fall of soundcloud truly is inspiring to me. …
Dear beloved readers. Usually, I update about the latest music projects coming up, but as you may remember from things like EDMT and our history as an open source netlabel, we are heavily interested in technology and software that helps people produce and perform music.
Here is the story: Two years ago Gianluca Baccanico, back then running the Loophole in Boddinstrasse and founder of the alternative Berlin Filmfestival Boddinale, approach me with this project of his.The guy is a smart media philosopher and visionary and yet the platform he was trying to build was a monster. I started to look at the code. Two months I tried getting the thing back to life …. nothing. The old programmer went mental in the process and so the project seemed doomed. By that time the platform had nearly 500 beta testers, but none of the necessary changes could be made. Despite all the odds, Gianluca didn’t give up, got out of his debts and even raised some little money to begin fresh! …
“Do you remember — we used to fool around?”
Judith is asking. Their first single is a nostalgia. A world in our mind, where everything comes back to life in all its vividness.
“You keep having a good time!”
is a rhetorical outcry to Mandy who seems stuck in Plato’s cave. Judith used to know that place, too. Now she wants to rise and emerge! It is time for a goodbye to old times with sweet naivety.
”Mandy, if you are coming, be kind and bring me EDM rave synths, infinite bass drums, cosmic pads and also some of that lightheadedness, we used to life and almost died for. You know, we used to rule the world.” …
15.7. @ Platoon Kunsthalle
The night was featuring Reynold, curator at his own Deep House imprint Trenton Records.
Visually PBD gained support by Trigger Bang Bang who are doing an excellent step towards what we call a real piano bass experience.

We are super proud to announce that our random endeavour into creating an audiovisual language and tool has been rewarded by one of the most re-known international supporters of media art ZKM in Karlsruhe (Zentrum für Kunst und Medien). And it’s the great Price for Artistic Innovation, what is more than reasuring to us, that EDMT is the right way to go.
The lifes of thousands have been spared! Giegling invited the shaman priests to fuel the ceremony, extend the ritual and combine the light of the day with the darkness of the night!
Lights! Shanting! Drumming! A circle of friends, the smell of horses, the breath of a dragoon meandering its way through the dancefloor. From zero to rave! When the mind controls the body and lust spills from every pore, a new chapter is opened. The gates to hell and heaven equally open at the same time. The cosmic singularity of brother- and sisterhood once more hit earth.

A call came from the south — Roglok (see picture below called) out to Berlin in order to recruit a partner in crime. Only point on the agenda — perform a piece of classic rave music! Surprisingly enough the booking went berserk and the act was mistaken as a DJ set, scheduled for 3 hours and put a challenge on the duo that had it’s experience with premature ejaculation due to ADS — a popular syndrome amongst the generation that grew up immediately after the reunion of the two Germanies. …
@gregor-schwellenbach @mandymozart @platoon @davidschwarz @thomasprestin @nastja @kompakt @shalomsalon
We are proud to invite you to our pilot event for a monthly showcase of new and inspiring piano dance music. This sonic experience is bringing back the oldest instrument in modern European music to the dancehalls and clubs of the world. The Piano * Bass * Drum nights are both an outlet for creative minds in the field of both electronic music, and classical music, as well as a place for experiments with modern piano technologies and real-time composition.
In our opening night we present to you a combination of artists that have shown their curiosity for the future of the piano in this years Jetztmusik Festival in Mannheim. Gregor Schwellenbach is a master of dissection. With his interpretations of various techno classics amongst many belonging to Cologne’s prime techno-label Kompakt, he is showing the simplicity and comfortable easiness of modern dance music. His arrangements are both dance floor crackers and chamber music strictly in the tradition of such amazing projects such as Acid Brass or Pinoccio and the seven musketeers, ..erm, we think you know what we are talking about. Secondly, Mandy Mozart prepared some interpretations of Robert Schumann together with extrem enigmatischer Pianist David Schwarz (https://soundcloud.com/mandymozart/jetztmusik-festival-feat-david-schwarz-swr-studio-mannheim), Nastja on vocals and Thomas Prestin on clarinette and fx. His/her/its interpretations of “Frauenlieder- und Liebe” is a work-in-progress that will find it’s completion only on the hofmusik dancefloor of Platoon Kunsthalle. The original scores are taken as modules to add a romantic lightness to the heavy bassdrum grooves. …
