Meta Mask Exercise — Transfer Ether from one Account to another Account!

Now lets perform a small exercise in Meta Mask. Here, we will be creating two accounts in Meta Mask. We will log on to test net ‘Ropsten Test Network’. Open faucet.metamask.io.

A page as shown below should be visible.

Click on ‘Request 1 ether from faucet’

Click on ‘Connect’ and then the below should be visible.

Click on the link under the ‘transactions’ now,you should be able to view the transaction in process — in ‘pending’ status. It takes some time for the Ether to be transferred.

There you go, now you the transaction is completed and status is ‘Success’

You can read each of the labels in this window — Transaction Hash, Status, Block, Timestamp, From Address, To Address, Value (Ether), Transaction Fee.

Now, you should be able to view ‘1 ETH’ balance in your Account in Meta Mask.

Now, go ahead and create yet another account in MetaMask. Click on the icon at the rear right corner — and click on ‘Create Account’.

click on ‘Create’

Account 2 is created.

Now, go back to ‘Account 1’ — send 0.5 Ether to ‘Account 2’.

Swich toAccount 1 and click on ‘Send’.

The below appears — click on the drop-down menu in ‘To’ Address and choose ‘Account 2’.

Enter the Amount manually 0.5 and Select the Transaction Fee to ‘Slow’ and click on ‘Next’.

The below screen shot should be visible.

click on ‘Confirm’ to confirm and initiate the transaction.

The transaction is initiated.

Now you get notified that the transaction is confirmed.

Switch back to Account 2 — you should be able to view the 0.5 Ether that has been transferred.

Yaay! You have successfully transferred Ether from one account to another account! There is a certain amount of gas used as a transaction fee here. So you have clearly done a practical of MetaMask session now! Hope your concepts are clear now!
