Divination and Prophecy

Divination and Prophecy, and the Chakras

For as long as human kind has expected a future we have been forecasting it. The difference between divination and prophecy may exist to some and certainly not to others. Prophecy has long been held as a sacred communication between the Divine and Human kind. It was the Priestess and the Priest who are regarded as receiving prophecy.

I remember the first time I publicly prophesied. It Freaked Me Out. I was seventeen years old and attending a woman’s gospel luncheon. We were standing up, much like we do in circle, with our eyes closed. I recall my eyes closed and my arms stretched out. The room was heavy with Spirit. All of a sudden my eye lids partially opened and froze. My eyes whipped from side to side and no matter what I could not physically open my eyes or change anything about their movement.

I spoke in a voice that was commanding and gentle telling of a time when we would build homes for prostitutes and young mothers. There were other things mentioned. What struck me, as equally powerful, was the absolute acceptance of what was spoken through me was absolutely from divine, by the ladies at the luncheon. When the spirit left me, I felt released; I was shaken (but not stirred) and remarkably at peace.

There are references to prophecy to many different myths. Such as Apollo, the god of prophecy. The people of Knock in Mayo, Ireland used to have a prophecy or legend that ‘a great silver bird will fly down and take people away’. Many years later the Knock airport was built in the area. It turns out that the people wanted to go with the ‘great silver birds’. The Hopi prophecies are very detailed and written about fairly extensively. I would recommend reading what you can about them, it is fascinating and mind opening.

Prophecy Follows Divination

The bridge between the two words is that prophecy follows divination. Divination is commonly described as methods of obtaining secret knowledge from the invisible realm through communication with divine sources via omens, oracles, signs or portents. Our ancestors placed great trust in the wisdom of the diviner. The divination process establishes contact between the human world and the world of the spirit.

Learning divination has been a hit and miss process for me. As diviners we have an essential role that of interpreting signs. Connecting to Spirit in a tangible form has helped me to listen and work within what I refer to as an invisible realm. However to me I never thought that the invisible necessarily meant the unknowable. As I grew in awareness I remembered to look for signs from the invisible realm. The irony of which is how can we see the invisible if we don’t look for it?

Pendulums and Chakras

Pendulums and chakras… you are well within your thought patterns to ask what one has to do with the other. Learning to read signs is so of interest to me. By seeking Patterns, our bodies are physical containers for spiritual insight, knowledge, interaction and relationship. Chakras are important in developing our own self-awareness, as well as learning to read that language on a friend, or a patient.

I have worked eight chakras, the transcendent. I have also worked with chakras below the feet on the knees. Today we are chatting primarily with our seven chakras. How the pendulum spins is not always in circles. The speed and the size of the circles indicate different energy levels. How the front and back chakra share different information.

The collective unconscious can be likened to a vast storehouse for the shared memories, experiences, wisdom, and universal archetypes of the human race. Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, in The Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious, describes archetypes in terms of patterns of behavior. Because we are connected to the collective unconscious through our subconscious mind, Jung believed these patterns or models of conduct — both positive and negative — serve to organize our experience and guide our unconscious behavior.

Because archetypes emerge from a core of common human experience, we easily recognize them when we see them in mythology, literature, and movies. For example, the Warrior hero is courageous and steadfast, willing to risk life and limb in the cause of justice. Our emotions are stirred as we watch the Warrior struggle against and overcome insurmountable odds. We want to be like the Warrior. At a subconscious level, we form an emotional kinship with a collection of archetypes that influence our behavior and make sense of our daily experiences in the world. The trick is to become aware of which ones, particularly the negative ones, are influencing our behavior.

When the 7 chakras are open and balanced, they are represented by a particular archetype of our subconscious. When the chakras are unbalanced, they can be either blocked or too open. If this is the case, the chakras are represented by shadow side of the archetypes. An examination of each chakra in terms of its archetypes can be extremely helpful in understanding where we are along the path of our spiritual journey and the work we need to do, to balance chakras in light of the positive archetypes associated with them. The table below shows the positive and negative archetypes of all 7 chakras.

The Chakras are specifically designed to act as one level of act similar to tuning antenna, aligned with a different aspects of physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual understanding. They intercept specific wavelengths of energy containing radiant information and bring that information down into the density of the body structure to utilize. Additionally, more refined tuning occurs at the molecular level, as genetic receptors receive information at an even greater level of vibration frequency.

The spin rate of the Chakras is a part of the fine tuning of this system. The higher chakras spin faster than the lower ones. There is a direct relationship between each individual chakra center and the specific ranges of energy within the human/creation Matrix. The chakra is the interface point, the energetic organ linking various aspects of the physical body to its non-physical counterparts…i.e. the Matrix Grid.

Seven Primary Chakras and the Endocrine System (Glands)

Chakras can shatter and need to be rebuilt — can you recognize any patterns you see in your life that may hinder you on your own path to self awareness and moving forward.

We are going to explore the physical, and shamanic, view, of our chakras. Today I want to discuss what is designed to inform the conscious mind, as well as the spiritual mind, specifics regarding the health, spirit and physical interpretation of each chakra.

Chakra # Element Endocrine Gland Color Function 7. Crown Spirit Pineal Violet-White Upper brain, right eye 6. Forehead Light Pituitary Indigo Lower brain, left eye, ears, nose and nervous system 5. Throat Sound Thyroid Blue Broncial and vocal apparatus, lungs, alimentary canal 4. Heart Air Thymus Green — Pink Heart, bloog, vagus nerve, circulatory system 3. Solar Plexus Fire Pancreas Yellow — Gold Stomach, liver, gall bladder, nervous system 2. Sacral Watar Gonads Orange Reproductive system 1. Base Earth Adrenals Red Spinal column, kidneys

It is interesting to note, when reading another person’s chakra, you can have an effect on the way the pendulum moves. How you might ask? Good question. We can create a push, as if you are pushing your energy onto theirs. So, don’t lean over the person when you are doing delicate pendulum work.

If you are alone, I suggest you use a body chart as a way of referencing your own experience. One hand will hold the

pendulum, over the chart. Your free hand, you will use to touch your chakras. The pendulum will move with a very accurate reading of your own chakras. Trust in that. I know you can read your own self. I suggest you do some deep breath work, centre yourself, and then move into exploring your chakras with a pendulum. Centre, connect with Spirit and you will be just fine.

Start by holding the cord of the pendulum between your thumb and forefinger about 10–15 cm (or 4–6 inches) above each chakra. As you grow more comfortable in your relationship with the pendulum, you can take readings of the chakras from the different aura fields. We will not go into that, here. It may be something you wish to pursue, if you decide to delve more deeply into shamanic healing. When the pendulum moves, notice its direction and movement.

This movement is what you will analyze in order to check the chakras. Possible interpretations of pendulum movement:

  • If the pendulum moves clockwise, then that chakra is open and well-balanced, is taking in energy and is fully functional.
  • Unless the movement of the pendulum is very wide and very fast. This could indicate that there is an unbalance in the chakra.
  • Another interpretation, is from one of the Yoga Masters I have studies with, — “if the chakra is moving clockwise it is healthy and releasing energy. If the chakra is moving counter-clockwise it is taking energy from the Source into itself. “

The above, is an illustration, of the difference in schools of thought. If we are not comfortable with our intuition, we need to practice. I take a look at the individual chakra, as well as how the chakras are relating to one another. It takes time to learn how to observe, as well as, how to work with any, worthwhile tool.

If the pendulum moves counter-clockwise, then there may be a blocked energy or negative experiences with the feelings relating to that chakra. Spinning counter-clockwise, elliptical, I interpret as distorted, sending energy out of the system.
If the pendulum moves in an elliptical swing, there may be a right- or left-side imbalance of energy flowing in the body. This may be due to overusing the right masculine side or the left nurturing side.

If the pendulum moves in an erratic swing, it is possible that the person you are working with, may have recently changed their beliefs, or is going through a spiritual upheaval. Matters such as these, can affect the chakra’s movement, and cause it to move erratically, for a couple of days.

If the pendulum is still for a long time, it is possible the chakra is very unhealthy, & may have a blockage. It is also possible, that a still chakra, is simply in the process of changing its spin, in which case it is not as much of a concern.
A flat chakra (horizontal, vertical, right or left) is taking in very little energy, and is compacting it, holding it down.
All things aside — If the pendulum does not move at all, you may be holding the pendulum in the incorrect location. Try moving it slightly. It does not hurt to be sure.

Be aware that the size of the pendulum’s circle, is a combination of your energy field, the pendulum’s energy field, and your partner’s energy field. This means, that your own chakra health, and the health of your own energy field, may have a direct impact, on how you are reading others’ chakras. Once again, check your posture. Make sure you are not leaning into the auric field of your partner.

Above all… have fun! You are learning after all. It is okay to make mistakes. We learn and grow when we have been humbled.
