I sincerely doubt it’s conventionally grown tomatoes causing the health problems you describe. More likely than not, it’s the more affordable foods, which aren’t fresh fruit and veg. While I completely see and agree with your point about economics, insisting on food production methods that don’t scale well does the opposite of solving that problem.
