Asylum seeker sexually assaulted on Manus Island

A leaked incident report reveals an asylum seeker was allegedly sexually assaulted by a Transfield employee on Manus Island.

The incident report is dated 9 March. The alleged sexual assault took place on 20 January.

According to the incident report:

  • The asylum seeker alleged a Transfield Safety and Security Advisor (SSA) ran the end of a water bottle up and down over the asylum seeker’s lips and then said “do you like this” or words to this effect.
  • The asylum seeker said the SSA pushed him off his chair.
  • The asylum seeker alleged the SSA said “you’re nice to fuck” or “you’d be nice to fuck” or similar before allegedly saying “I will fuck you later.”
  • The asylum seeker alleged that the SSA reached out and touched his buttock area.
  • The asylum seeker says the SSA followed him to the rear of the fence area and then stayed nearby observing him for an hour, during which the SSA kept winking at him.
