An asylum seeker in Nauru has told me that she is being sent to Papua New Guinea tomorrow for medical tests.

Other sources have told me that a group of asylum seekers and refugees will be sent to PNG tomorrow for medical care.

One source says a pregnant refugee on Nauru was told that she will have to go to PNG to give birth. The source says the woman has refused to go to PNG.

I called Immigration Minister Peter Dutton’s office today and asked if there are plans to send asylum seekers and refugees in Nauru to PNG for medical care. A spokesperson for Mr Dutton told me they were not aware of policy issues and couldn’t comment.
