Surveillance Is Good For You

I have only learned of this product just this year and it may be creepy as hell but I think it will have a side effect — teaching children that living within a Big Brother society is part of living in the modern age. It is sad.

An argument could be made that we have been telling children for years that Santa “knows when you are sleeping”. But that, I think, is part of that Christmas wonder part of growing up. Eventually, you learn that it may not be true (or it is because Santa does indeed exist!) but the decision is made by the child themselves.

Having a physical object that may sit on a shelf and potentially move around (if the parents are so inclined…) from time to time is a step too far.

For what it is worth… those are my two cents.
