I think the thing that’s different about my particular situation, and thus the context around the article, is that our startup is a pure AI play, and most of us are technical/data guys.
With that said, though, it’s possible for small companies to instill a sense of data-importance if someone is an advocate for it early on. It’s much harder for that to change as things get bigger and people make decisions based on the highest paid person (HiPPo)in the room.
