Rather, what if we can package this as a micro-interaction? Let’s say you have a voice button accessible via 3D touch. Once you press it, a card layer pops up on your home screen, ready for you to record your voice. Once you’re done, the card goes away taking all that information into the app. You never open the app, but your goal is fulfilled — which is to dictate a message. I know this kind of a concept doesn’t play well with existing patterns, but we can certainly dream!
