Yeah I agree with you. The question of diversity is more organizational here. Yes, if they had an Asian in their team, chances are that such a filter would not have seen the light of the day. Having said that, I think we are all jumping the gun when we call it racist in nature. It’s a fairly harmless filter which is supposed to evoke ‘funny’ instead of racism. Let’s not forget there are tons of other filters out there which are not even close to anything racist. If that’s the case even what’s app emoticons should be racist. I guess it has become a little fashionable to label tech as a white man’s dominion.
