“Our World is Flat” — Tom Friedman

Thomas Friedman, who is a columnist for The New York Times and a dedicated journalist, gave a speech at MIT back in 2008, had repeatedly said that the world is not round anymore. He emphasized that it is important to acknowledge that the world is flat. He connects his speech to the concept of globalization, that people are ultimately interconnected with each other for those who have access to the Internet.

Even though this speech was dated back to 2008, there is definitely so much to learn from it and can still be applicable in today’s society. People still think the world is huge and underestimate how the world can be seen as a much smaller place all because of the power of being interconnected. Friedman, also connected his speech to the System, in which Chapter 4 talks about.
