Brain Surgery: The Aftermath
Steve Hull

I’m glad you made it through! However, your perspective is a bit different from mine.

I am profoundly deaf in both ears, and use sign language to communicate. If you asked me if I would trade deafness for a lifetime of partial hearing and headaches, I wouldn’t do it.

The first impression I got from your story was that you were facing a possibly life threatening tumor, and were more concerned about getting your hearing back. It seems to me that you made choices based on that, rather than saving your own life. I mean, hearing would be the last thing I’d be thinking about, probably because I have been deaf since birth, and would say, “Holy shit, I’m alive and feel fine.”

Best wishes to your recovery and thanks for sharing your story!
