Here’s to my first — FB live video!
One of many things I’ve always found myself not good at is being, “candid”; putting myself in front of a crowd and expressing who I am without practice nor script. I knew it to be fun and exciting, but I also knew it to be very on the spot and nerve-wracking. Although, don’t get me wrong. It always crossed my mind to try it with friends because it was always easier to be who you are with the people you’re most comfortable with. With that, an opportunity just had to present itself.
For our PUBLISH class, we were given the task to put ourselves in front of a live audience on Facebook. Here it was, the opportunity. Immediately, I started thinking of the “who’s” and “what’s” in my Facebook live. I asked those closest to me that lived in condos here in Taft. I searched my brain for vlogs I’ve seen in the past. In the end, these had been the results:
5 friends and 3 challenges. Throughout my segment, we had an average of 5 viewers. Throughout my segment, we had lots of laughs. Throughout my segment, I was very aware of myself. But, throughout my segment, I learned to let lose and just enjoy what we were doing.
There could’ve been better ways to do my first Facebook live, in such a way that would’ve gotten me more viewers. But for a first, I’m happy with what I’ve come up with along with my friends and it is something I might be doing more often.
