What are Input Devices?

Input devices are electromagnetic devices that accept data or a set of instructions from the environment around them and then translate that data into machine-readable and intelligible form. Computer input devices serve as a communication interface between the outside world and the computer. When users enter data into the computer via various input devices, the data is capable of being saved in computer memory for later processing and preparation. When the processing and handling are finished, the intended and calculated results can be obtained using the output devices. An input device sends data via USB to a computer and enables you to communicate and control it.

Examples:

Scanner, Microphone, Barcode reader, and keyboard

What is an Output device?

An output device is any peripheral that accepts data from a computer and prints, projects, or reproduces it. The format of the result can be audio, video, hard copy (printed paper), and so on. Output devices transform computer data into a format that can be read by humans. We provide input to the computer via input devices, and the computer executes operations on the data before presenting the results to the user via output devices.

Examples:

Printer, Speaker, Monitor, and Projector
