I like how you set up your article by framing your typified vision of the Gen X lifestyle before going into the present. I would love to read a more specific treatise on your perspectives of the broader political and social landscape with regard to Trump!

I was born in 1963, but I never felt like a Gen Xer. Like Harvey, Bjork, and Amos, I am an artist. Like these women, I learned to own my sexuality but never fell for the fuckery of third-wave feminism, which, in my reasoning, was manufactured by the military-industrial-entertainment complex to maintain white-heterosexual-male hegemony. However, as with the Deep State, I don’t believe that the creation of third-wave feminism was the result of intentional mass collusion: it happened in ad agencies, editorial offices, A&R rep meetings, and millions of martini lunches, then, like adhesion and cohesion, it all glommed together in an unstoppable ocean of hypersexualization of the human female form. Everyone was forced to consume this new, manufactured image of “female” because it was everywhere and, thanks to the combination of television, printed materials, music, and the internet, it quickly became normalized. The next thing we know, Toddlers and Tiaras. Eww.
