- Start saving up early — Don’t ever under estimate the power of compounding in your life. Invest in stocks, crypto-currency or at least in properties. Make sure that it is a growing asset.
- College degrees (unless you are a Dr or some specialized service provider) only prepare you for a job in a company and nowadays in most cases they don’t even prepare you for that.
- Read, read and read every day. Be in an eternal pursuit of knowledge. It will keep your mind sharp for the rest of your life.
- Start spending at least some time on your passion. Be in writing or blogging or collecting stuffs. The time spent on your passion will help you to cope up with stress. Also remember it is never too late to start anything.
- Learn to say “no”. More often than not in several situation when we want to say “no” we end up saying “yes” and regret it later. So start learning to say “no” to things that will have no impact on your career or personal life. It will determine how happy you will be when you grow older. It might free you from the regret of over working in a job or a relationship that ended up nowhere.
- Work out everyday like your life depends on it. When we are at our peak health we practice and learn unhealthy eating habits which will eventually come back to haunt us in the future. It can be yoga, gym or running whatever that catches your fancy.
- Practice the art of listening and meditation. It will help you in connecting with other humans better.
- Very few people in the world are gifted with a job which overlaps with their passion. Not everyone can be so lucky but when you are young and you have less pressure and expectation you can afford to try out different job profile till one catches your interest. So don’t hesitate to get out of your comfort zone for a new job. You will not have this flexibility as you grow old.
