The reason we’ve been successful in creating world class parties around the world is because of our team. Consistent creativity, dedication and endless smiles has been our winning formula — and we couldn’t ask for a better team.

As all of our customers, partners and followers know, we like to keep a friendly and personal relationship with everyone — so we’ve decided to do a #TeamMemberTuesday blog every week so you can get to know everyone a little more!

So without further a do…. meet our longest standing Sharky & George employee and rock to the company; Jean-Anne Russell!

1.) How long have you been with Sharky & George and what’s your job roll? “I’m the Events Director and I’ve been here 7 years and 7 months!”

2.) So, let’s start with a serious question. If you could be any animal, what would it be and why? “Definitely it would have to be a dolphin — they’re super clever, multi-taskers that swim free and have a huge group of family and friends… and they like playing games”

3.) What’s your favourite game at a children’s party? “Hands down it’s gotta be Fear Pong…like beer pong but instead of beer (obviously… it’s a children’s party!!), the forfeit is ‘Fear’ (like the ‘dare’ bit in Truth or Dare). If they loose then they have to do things like eating edible bugs!!”

🙋

4.) What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen happen at a party? “Last weekend a pretty awesome mum got gunged in a very chilly gunge tank!”

5.) What’s your go-to party starter tune? “I Love It by Icona Pop!!”

(Ear muffs if you’re listening to the un-clean version and you have children around)

6.) If you were a colour, what colour would you be? “Turquoise!”

7.) What’s the most ambitious party idea you’ve been involved with in the last year?

“Organising a party for Prince William, Prince Harry and the Duchess of Cambridge — they wanted to host a party at the palace for 800 children who all lost a parent while fighting with the royal forces.

The party was in the gardens of Buckingham Palace. It was three days before the Queen hosted her first garden party of the year and needless to say we had to ensure that the grass and gardens were left in pristine condition when all 1500 guests had left….don’t worry, I promise we didn’t leave a mess!

It was an incredible party with hundreds of water bombs and a team of 40 S&G guys and girls doing massive games and activities — we even managed to play a huge game of Sharky’s Footsteps and Fishy Fishy Fishy with all 800 children!

Nina Conti and Jess Glynne both performed and then the RAF Falcons parachuted out of a Chinook helicopter and landed in the the middle of the grass in front of the guests! BEST PARTY EVER!”

8.) The Sharky & George HQ is a pretty lively place, what’s your favourite thing in the office? “I love the ball pit meeting room, it’s hilarious to have a serious meeting in, but also as I have narcolepsy it’s the perfect spot for a cheeky little nap!”

Monday Morning Meetings In The Ball Pit!

9.) Any interesting things on the horizon that you can let followers know about? “Look out for the S&G Membership which will be launching later this year. Also our NEW WEBSITE is finally almost done. The current one is a little dated and doesn’t show even half of the cool stuff we get up to so I can’t wait for everyone to see the new one!”

10.) If you could swap places with somebody in the world for 24 hours, who would it be and why? “My four year old niece — she is determined to have a serious amount of fun at all times and her wild imagination gets everyone around her involved in mischief, so she’s constantly surrounded by giggling people!”

11.) Have you got any secret talents? “Besides being expert at sleeping, I’ve got a degree in music and I used to be a pop star!”

12.) Who is your least favourite member of…One Direction and why!? Least favourite member of One Direction….seems such a harsh question! But I think the one that isn’t Harry, Liam, Zane or Niall…basically because I don’t know his name! But being Irish myself, I feel a biased towards Niall!
