Thoughtful analysis. Yes spoils go to those with better economies of scale, that’s how it always is.
You might be surprised, but I don’t think a switch to Subscriber-share would change things all that much for the labels. In fact numerous studies and “dry-runs” have shown that switching to subscriber-share had little if any impact on major label revenues.
Where it does have an impact is on which artists got the money. Right now artists who get lots of clicks get the money. What we want though is artists who have lots of fans to get the money.
