This trek is usually for intermediate trekkers and yes beginners can also complete this trek but with little difficulty. There are two ways to reach the trekking area either you travel 10 km to the trekking area from Pantwari village or you walk for 5 km to trekking area from Pantwari village. This trek is located in the range of lesser Himalayas in Uttarakhand and 3000 m(9840 ft.) from sea level.

What is the best time to visit Nag-Tibba?

For travelers who want to experience the view with snowfall and snow trekking, the best time to visit Nag-Tibba is between November — March. According to seasoned trekkers, Nag- Tibba trek is delightful in every month of the year. The summer season is pleasant and scenic.

Where is Nag-Tibba and how to reach there?

Firstly, you need to reach Dehradun, from there you will find a bus for Mussoorie at the entrance of Railway Station. After reaching Mussoorie which is approx. 35 km from Dehradun you have two to reach Pantwari:

  1. Either, you take a public cab or private cab for Pantwari which will cost Rs. 600 — Rs. 1200 for a round trip.
  2. Or, you take rentals which will cost approx. Rs. 850 per person for a round trip.

Remember, there is no bus or train to reach Pantwari.

Campsite (5km from Pantwari village)

Experience and Guide to Nag-Tibba :

Day 1: After reaching Pantwari you can take a guide from the village. The ideal time to start trekking is 3:00 p.m, this will take 2–3 hrs (5 km) to reach the campsite. After reaching the campsite you can enjoy the view and campfire. That moment is unforgettable, the cold breeze, the open sky, and the golden evening sky.

Having dinner under the open sky full of stars. I promise that the scene can never vanish from your mind.

Day 2: Highly Recommended to start the trek in the early morning between 4:00 am — 6:00 am. It will take 4–5 hrs (7 km to reach to summit. I would highly recommend you don’t stay on summit afternoon on a sunny day because the snow starts to melt around 11:00 am and it might get too risky while you come down from the summit.

How much budget?

This trip will cost Rs. 4000-Rs. 5000 per person. I traveled from Jaipur to Dehradun and then to Mussoorie after that we booked rentals and reached Pantwari village.
