The Dystopian States of America

America is always the center stage of the world, and what the world sees is painful to watch, but what the world doesn’t see is even more painful to live through.

Though this article was ultimately written as a result of the events that stemmed from George Floyd’s awful death in the hands, or rather under the knee of a corrupt ex-cop, and abetted by three of his crooked ex-cop buddies, it didn’t begin with George Floyd. In fact, people are still mourning the loss of Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old black woman who was gunned down by Louisville Police in a no-knock raid, and the list goes on and on. The point is that the disregard for black lives is not news. And if you live in America and you are black, or a minority, or poor, then the odds are already disproportionately against you living a happy & calm life, but if you are black, then you live with the additional fear and stress of yourself or someone in your family being killed, simply for having that skin color. And not killed by a random person (though this absolutely does happen, and often), but murdered by the same people who are supposed to “protect and serve”.

Like I said this is not news, but what was easier to ignore for those who didn’t live through it, and what was just a fact of life you needed to deal with, for those who live it every day, all of a sudden captured the attention of the entire world. Systemic racism in America never disappeared, it has always been festering below the surface, but what is new, what did contribute to this exposure and global support for justice in the case of George Floyd is the Coronavirus, which by the way never left.

The Coronavirus manifested in this world with full force, stopping everyone in their tracks, it affected everyone all over the globe. It showed us that we are all interconnected in this closed system of nature for better or for worse. It is also exposing the extent and depth of corruption by our so-called leaders, and we will continue to see just how much disregard these “leaders” have towards the people they are supposed to serve. Their strategy, along with the support of the mainstream media is to continue to divide us. The media profits from this because fear sells, and those in power understand that as long as we are killing each other, we are not looking at them, and this is dangerous because all around the world, while we are distracted and divided, the continuing spread of misinformation is distorting our reality and making it increasingly difficult for us to rise above this chaos.

It’s sad enough when the news is portrayed to suit an individual or institution. It’s awful enough that the world is suffering and our system is designed to ultimately crush us, but then to change the narrative of what is really happening by the international mainstream media? It’s unacceptable. I get more truth from a 10-minute late-night show monologue, and it comes along with humor:

Shockingly Brutal Police Tactics Deployed Nationwide As Protests Unite Americans Of All Backgrounds

This is the truth about what is currently happening in America, in the wake of the virus. Democracy is not dying, it’s dead. What began as ‘Black Lives Matter‘ protests are quickly evolving into something else. That’s because it is a much deeper issue that goes beyond the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, it speaks to the fundamental core of our existence — division, change.

What is interesting is that so many people sense this need to come together, they have a desperate need for change, support, guidance. Unfortunately, unity doesn’t sell so the news we receive doesn’t reflect the whole truth, rather, they throw a fragment at you, describe it at face value, and this is what we judge, the destruction and chaos.

The people who have all the perceived power are few; they know this, they need us to be divided. They thrive off our division, they profit off our hatred towards one another. We cannot buy into it. Humanity (the majority of it) is inherently good. Take this scene from a citizen, “reacting” to what he needed to do as the military closes in on citizens peacefully practicing their constitutional right to protest or even citizens who just happened to be outside as they hadn’t been updated to the new 6:00 pm curfew that had just been imposed. And again, the coronavirus is alive and well:

Hero saves 70 protesters

The truth is that humanity at large is in trouble. We cannot deny that what we do and the way we behave influences everyone else. Last week America was burning, and now the world is on fire.

There is only one way we will discover the real truth, and it begins with exposing all that is corrupt and restructuring the entire system to benefit everyone existing within this system equally. This will involve education, an integral education that I hope will soon arrive.
