How many innocent people have to die at the hands of the police in the United States before a systemic change is made? Is just one question Americans ought to be asking their self. Another is how police shootings are reported on in America? Justine Damond being shot and killed is tragic for sure. Culture, race, and prejudice, however, may well be a factor that needs to be examined.

Leading to many other tough questions that are hard to discuss. Nonetheless, Americans may not be safe and protected by those charged with protecting the public. Perhaps there is a toxic mix of political and cultural differences Americans refuse to examine. If so how does America find a path forward? One where calling the police for help, being pulled over for a possible traffic violation or any other police interaction does not end with a tragic death.
