Selling Out and the Death of Hacker Culture

As a high schooler, I have definitely noticed that coming into the collegiate hackathon scene (especially with MLH events) has brought far more corporate culture than “hacker culture”, something that at this point is pretty rare to find. I can’t help but feel that the entire HS Hackers culture is headed along a similar path, one that allows our members to become minions to large corporations, who in turn give us gifts in order to continue finding talented high schoolers to sensationalize. Great article.
