Purdy Arms

It was not my first time hearing Purdy Arms. However, for some reason, I had dismissed it. I had assumed it was not as epic. In my head, it was the place with paintball. I am not a fan of ganging people up to do anything. A group of people from work were going there for paintballing so I jumped at the chance.

The place was so beautiful. It had archery, paintballing, a beer festival and rock climbing. Oh yes, I saved the best for last. I have always wanted to do rock climbing. I had been planning to visit Diamond Plaza for a while. I decided to kill two birds with one stone. Who was going to go all the way to Karen again? I will be doing actual rock climbing(not artificial) soon at Hell’s Gate. I will make a point of sharing my experience here.

Paintballing was also fun. It is one of those things I had to experience to get what it was all about. Oh, and my game was on! I felt like a ninja walking sorry marching across the field unafraid of bullets. I felt like an assassin for a minute there and it turned me on; That gangsta vibe! I was on top of the world. One of the challenges I had was that my gun kept jamming. I did not try to imagine the other team was suffering the same predicament. They were but I had clear shots at the enemy and all I could do was keep firing a jammed gun. It was war and I wanted to win so bad. I finally got to implement the skill set I learnt from watching and rewatching NIKITA. I was in charge of taking the flag but the other team beat me to it. The suits were so uncomfortable though. I kept imagining the number of people who had won them before me that day and even before that. :cringes-with-dread: It was also difficult to run in it. All in all, it was superb. I am definitely doing this again.

The rock climbing looked easier from afar. What’s so difficult about holding on to small pebbles, stepping on some while pulling yourself up? Easy right? I was wrong! I was not scared of the height as I knew the rope got me. I am that good with trust. I trust wholly but before it gets there, there needs to be baptism by fire to ensure certification. I did three challenges. It was tiring but awesome. I refused to participate in any of their challenges. What do you mean I only work with orange pebbles? Getting up there is what matters to me, I will tag my ego along next time. I would have wished to go for two more challenges but time was not on my side.

They also had a beer festival on the same day. The description/purpose of the event did not concern me. I was concerned with the music that was playing. From afar, I was drawn to the rock music. I am such a sucker for rock music. It gets me in my happy mood anytime. Metallic is not on my list though!

We had some team building activities too. I am not gonna bore myself with the dread or active attempt to describe them all here. What however you gather from it all is we won. My paintballing team won and my team, Team Delta, won the team building activities. With those two arguments, it’s smart to conclude that All I Do Is Win!

It was overall an epic day. I had so much fun!
